Grassland Cameroon is a new grain handling company, operating in the North West region of Cameroon. At Grassland, we aim to provide high capacity, high quality post-harvest grain handling services that large users of maize can rely on. Grassland Cameroon is the maiden investment of Grassland Ventures, an investment holding company that supports grass root companies across Africa, with a strong focus on Francophone Africa.Through our services, we provide a direct market for farmers, while guaranteeing a high standard of grain on the market. Our facility is built to condition up to 15,000MT of grain per annum. Our core operations are based in Babessi, Ngoketunjia, in the North West region of Cameroon. Position objectives: The incumbent will be the interface between Grassland Cameroon and our customers and suppliers, as such, their role is to establish and maintain strong client relationships. They will be expected to not only liaise with our General Manager in dealing with existing clients and partners, but equally to attract prospective clients to purchase our goods and services, and to retain their loyalty by ensuring that they feel valued and appreciated. Position responsibilities: More specifically the incumbent will be in charge of: • Developing and maintaining relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls and emails; • Gathering market and customer information; • Acting as a contact between GCL and our existing and potential markets; • Maintaining and regularly updating a roster of truck drivers; • Organizing sales visits; • Negotiating the terms of agreements and closing sales; • Negotiating on price, costs, delivery and specifications with buyers and suppliers; • Liaising with suppliers and agents to check the progress of pending orders; • Checking the inventory of goods in the warehouse and entering the figures into appropriate software; • Recording sales and order information and sending copies to the General Manager and Admin Officer; • Recommending product and service improvements. Skills/Qualifications Skills • A good level of numeracy; • Fluency in English, French & Pidgin English is required; • Excellent interpersonal skills; • Excellent team building skills; • Ability to think analytically and proactively; • Effective organizational skills; • Have computer literacy (Word and Excel) is required; • Demonstrate superb time management skills; • 5-10 years experience as a commercial agent, with at least two years of direct contact with customers or the general public is required.
